Dear Owl's Head Cliff Supporter,

The Trust for Public Land recently purchased the Owl’s Head Cliff property from the Riveroaks Limited Partnership on August 31, 2007 to hold it off the market while we work with the Forest Service to add it to the White Mountain National Forest.  A copy of the latest press release and project summary is attached with this email.

The Trust for Public Land (TPL) is a national nonprofit land conservation organization established to acquire land for public use.  TPL was founded in 1972 as a new kind of land-saving organization: with a focus on real estate expertise enabling us to move quickly to protect land in the market place.  We believe that connecting people to land through parks, recreation areas, working lands, and natural open spaces is key to livable communities, a healthy environment, and overall quality of life.  TPL sustains itself from charitable gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.  TPL has completed over 3,500 projects nationwide protecting over 2 million acres.  In New Hampshire alone TPL has conserved over 200,000 acres and counting.  The Owl’s Head Cliff project represents our 24th project in partnership with the White Mountain National Forest and we plan on continuing that partnership into the future.

We greatly appreciate you voicing your concern for the protection of the Owl's Head Cliff property in the past.  The money we use to complete real estate transactions such as the Owl’s Head Cliff project depends on the generous support of donors and volunteers who share our mission of conserving land for people.  A donation to The Trust for Public Land is an investment in land conservation in New England and across the country.  Your gift of $500, $250, or $100 will enable TPL to continue to be responsive to important conservation projects like this one.  We sincerely hope you will consider The Trust for Public Land in your annual giving and join us as a supporter of land conservation that fosters and restores our connection with the land.

Please be aware that while TPL allows public access on this property, members of the public do so at their own risk, and are asked to take all reasonable precautions.

We look forward to celebrating with you once we add this remarkable property to the White Mountain National Forest later this year.

Sincerely,

Josh Kelly
